The objectives of the education committee are to provide CalTIA members with educational opportunities for the California travel industry, including forums, sessions at the Annual California Conference on Tourism, and an ongoing relationship with the state’s university system. One such relationship is with California State University Fullerton (CSUF).

CalTIA has placed its support behind the newly formed “Certificate in Tourism” program at CSUF. Tourism is one of California’s leading industries generating over $93 billion in travel spending and supporting more than 929,000 jobs in 2006. Therefore, it is foreseen that California will continue to generate significant tourism revenue throughout the state with a projected 25% job growth anticipated for this industry over the next decade. California businesses involved in tourism are seeking individuals with specialized training due to the increased complexity of financial and technological advances including sophisticated security issues. The Certificate in Tourism offers you the opportunity to participate in this specialized training. >> Click here << to jump over to the CSUF Web site for enrollment information.
